Hope for the best and prepare for the worst!

Hope for the best, and
prepare for the worst!
Does it challenge your "family values" to see a young man proudly displaying that he carries condoms with him? Would it change your mind to know that he is a virgin? What if he is already a teenaged father?
Sometimes we put too much stock in our own reactions as adults to our own "sensibilities," especially when it comes to young people. That emotional reactiveness is neither a good example for youth nor is it the behavior of a reasonable adult.
So, if it does indeed challenge you, know that you have some work to do in understanding others. Know that adults ourselves must be aware of your reaction--based in our own successes, failures, hopes and fears--remove it from the equation, think or pray on the true facts of a given situation, accept the realities, then approach with compassion for those involved.
Only the universe knows what truly is the best and worst!
Much Love...Chase

Don't Venture off into those dangerous public places to do in the dark what you are afraid to bring into the light. At Brother2Brother/Sister2Sister, we prove time and time again...you are not alone. Hey, being honest and standing up for who you are couldn't be any less dignified than tramping around in bookstores, reststops, bathrooms, Internet & phone chats, etc.
Stay Out the Bushes!...Get yours with style.

The "Down Low" is a dangerous proposition. Secrecy provides a level of exXxcitement that makes folks take more risks than they would with the usual social limits on them. Lies put another's life on hold, while giving the liar some false confidence, and exposes this same loving innocent to untold risks.

GUILT(healthy shame) is an internal acknowledgement of the need to correct belief & behavior. SHAME is someone else putting their guilt onto another. "Love" is an action word. "I Love you!" This is an assertion, not only of internal feeling that comfort onesself, but commitment to external actions that provide what's needed to comfort the object of that "Love."

A man is more than his role as provider, protector, leader, and mentor. He is imperfect. He is fearful. He is vulnerable. He is hu-man. The measure of a man is in his choices. Be careful what you do because God is watching. Believe him when he shows you who he is. If you don't have HIV/STD's don't get 'em! If your living with HIV/STD's don't pass 'em on!

The choice is yours. Give yourself every shot at a fulfilling life. Abstain from sexXx every moment that you feel like it. When and if one does make the choice to be physically intimate with another, it should be taken seriously. Not only each one of the folks involved, but the situation itself deserves to be treated with the utmost respect and consideration! Posted by Picasa
